Year

2014

Location

Truccazzano, frazione Albignano (MI)

The project dealt with the structural, architectural and energy improvement of a home-workshop of the 40s-50s, in the old town of Truccazzano.

In the original building the Studio have built a large duplex and an apartment on the ground floor served by double garage and ancillary rooms. The design study focused on the quality of the finishes and the use of renewable sources. The facades were decorated with natural stone consistent with the historic, artistic and cultural value of the context and the Lombard style. The interior has been enhanced with white wood beamed ceilings, parquet flooring, gypsum plasters and faux finishing. Energy performance has been improved with a substantial thermal insulation and triple pane windows with wooden structure. The plants are the last generation in their kind with the support of a 9KW photovoltaic system placed on the roof. In particular, the electrical system is totally managed remotely with home automation system. The use of materials and systems mentioned above allow a Class A+ energy building.
